Hello all! Thanks for visiting my blog today! It's always a pleasure to have visitors. I would like to ask that everyone kindly encourage all your friends and family members to come visit Robyn's Nest or my blog site. I'm sure that each person will find something that catches their eye and heart and holds on tight to it. They will want to bring their new found treasures to their home to display for everyone and also for themselves when they are alone and want a reminder of what is beautiful and touching to them. Don't you have some thing or some things that you just love to look at and/or touch and admire as a favorite piece among your collection of personal treasures? I have lots of these very things scattered all throughout my house, in every nook and cranny, within each and every room, and also in my outdoor "rooms", like my porches and patios. I especially love lots of color...bright, happy colors.
Robyn's Nest is especially colorful. There are three distinct rooms (or areas) and each has its own special color. The main room where the front door opens is painted a bright, warm yellow and is trimmed in bubble gum pink around the windows and a stunning, gentle orange on the baseboards. The room behind that one is all painted the same orange as the baseboards (actually, all the baseboards in the whole shop are painted the orange color). The third room is painted pink with yellow trimming the windows and of course the oange baseboards. Most of the items in my store are brightly colored and gloriously pleasing to look at.
In addition to the candy jar of colors, I have peaceful, relaxing, meditation-oriented music in the background, full of flutes and drums and sounds of nature, like rain and thunder, birds chirping, or waves crashing on the ocean shore. Rich, foresty scents float around from the burning incense scattered in several corners, along with floral and fruit candles, creating a marvelous fragrance that pulls you in and makes you want to just lay down on the cheetah print carpet and take a long, serenely tender nap with my shop cat, Prince.
All in all, I guarantee everyone who visits Robyn's Nest will have a lovely experience. Thank you all in advance for your support and blessings, because each one means so much to me.
Blessed be.
It took only 2 days to receive the new handbags (surprising for the U.S. postal service, if you ask me). Ordered on Wednesday evening and on the porch by Friday afternoon is quite impressive and especially exciting for me AND my customers. These bags sell at other boutiques for up to $60.00 each. I am selling these glorious bags for a low price of $35.00 for the large bags and $25-$30 for the smaller bags. You can find pictures of the purses below in my last entry. There are couple that are not pictured but they are just as fabulous. In time, I plan on bringing in Ed Hardy, True Religion, Sinful, and Juicy Couture merchandise. In the meantime, if you are interested in anything made by these designers, let me know and I can order you some great products at more than HALF OFF the retail price. I will soon begin a catalog so all Robyn's Nest customers can shop at their own pace and in the privacy of their own home while saving them so much money at the same time. For any questions or comments, please email me at robynsnesttreasures@gmail.com or you can reach me at (325) 672-2575. Hope you all have a marvelous weekend! I look forward to seeing you at Robyn's Nest in the near future!
Blessed be!

Good afternoon everyone!
As I mentioned in my last entry, it's as hot as Mercury here and staying in an air-conditioned building is one of the best ways to cope with it. Luckily, my shop is nice and cool. So much so that even the courtyard cat, Prints, comes and makes himself at home here EVERY. DAY. I have to practically drag him out by the tail at the end of the day because he has no desire to frolick in the sauna that is the outoors. Anyhow, since my time is spent inside, I decided to order some new products for the store. In particular, PURSES. And not just any ol' purse. The purses I've ordered are very stylish and chic in animal prints and sprinkled with rhinestones and turquoise stones. Here are some photos of the purses I will have as of Friday or Saturday
:
These are just a few of the styles I will have. If you're interested in any of them or would like a particular bag in a different color, let me know by email or by phone (325-518-5577) and I will take care of you right away. These are excellent handbags with lots of room inside each one. The exterior is a soft leathery texture and the rhinestones and turquoise stones are firmly and expertly attached so they'll stay in place, even if it's heavily used in the daily rush of life. I promise that you will absolutely fall in love with these ultra fab purses! Prices upon request. Please check back regularly to see new items that have been added to the store. I can take payments via Credit Cards or Pay Pal for any item I have online. Shipping will be added during checkout. Let me know what you think of these new additions. Any suggestions or requests are always welcome. I want to make sure every customer is completely happy with their new treasures.
Have a great day!
I am a great believer in the power of Feng Shui. Proper feng shui is purposefully arranging the stuff around you to gain positive results, as described by one of my favorite feng shui authors Karen Rauch Carter. It's amazing how you can alter the positive or negative energies that come into your life based on what and where you place specific items in your home and in your rooms and, in my case, in my shop. I've been studying feng shui for a year or two now and I love it! Everyone...in my opinion...should at least know some of the basics.
Today I've decided to start a more detailed feng shui set up for my shop. When I moved everything in here, I created a bagua map for the layout and included some of the items needed to create positive chi in each area. But now I want to focus intently on each gua (section) and specifically arrange each thing precisely according to feng shui principles. This is a perfect task for me to work on when business is slow...such as today. (My next entry will go into more details as to why this week is going to be a slow one.)
One of my favorite guide books for feng shui is called Move Your Stuff, Change Your Life: How to Use Feng Shui to Get Love, Money, Respect, and Happiness.
I plan on using this book while working with my shop layout. I started out today with reading up on the Fame & Reputation gua, which is located in the center of the rear wall from the main door (South end of the shop), and is associated with the color red, triangular shapes, and the element of fire. Improving this gua accordingly should help me in the following ways:
- Business increases or improves (translating into more money...which I really need right now)
- I will have the courage to do something I have always been afraid to do (the fact that I opened my own shop means that my Fame gua at home was in good shape and burning all those red 7-day candles helped strengthen my courage immensely.)
- I will gain respect from my partner, my family, my friends, and my customers.
- My good reputation will be protected.
- I will become very well known.
- I will finally get the credit I deserve.
- I will have support from others because they will see me as valuable.
- And most importantly, I will accept myself for who I am.
Here are a list of power tools for this gua:
***Fire, lights, red, triangular shapes, wood, green, television, rectangular or columnar shaped objects, items that represent fire, stained glass, animals and things made from animals, plants, pictures or memorabilia of celebrities or people you admire, recognition items, personal wish list, "up" stuff, real mountains.
Here are a list of Hazardous Materials for this gua:
***Water, black, things that symbolize what you are NOT about, mirrors.
I was looking at my Fame & Reputation gua here at the shop. Here is what I have:
- Wooden rolltop desk and wooden shelves and a wooden shabby chic vanity with wooden chair. Therefore, my WOOD items are in place just fine.
- A tall, green 7-day candle sits on top of the rolltop desk, and green also symbolizes wood.
- I have a couple strands of garden lights strung up to highlight my archway display and I also have a gorgeous antique floor lamp. These things fill the necessity of "light" in this area. Doing good so far!
- I have a rectangular bamboo & wood cabinet in place here as well.
- The bulbs that I have on my antique floor lamp are shaped to give the illusion of fire, so I believe my fire element is in 'Okay' standing, although I think I need to add a few more red accents and fire representations.
- I just remembered the great wall art picture of the red and black checkered chair. Although there is black in the picture (a Haz-Mat item), I believe the heavy use of red in the picture counter-balances this.
Here are some things I'd like to add to this section:
- A plant or two
- A personal wish list (which I'll try to write tonight while I lounge in front of The Golden Girls)
- Some animal pieces...either some pictures or some leather or fur pieces.
- A few Chinese lanterns to hang from the ceiling (my "up" items)
- I also need to hang one of my round crystals in front of any poison arrows that are directed at this gua, and I think there may be one or two of those, but I'll have to study it a little bit first to know for sure.
- More red stuff
- More fire stuff
Well, that was easy enough. Looks like most of this area is looking pretty dang good already, if I do say so myself. Tomorrow I will work on the corresponding/opposite gua...Career & Life Path, which is directly North and begins at the front door.
In the next week and a half, I will be opening the doors of my new shop Robyn's Nest, which is located in Abilene, Texas inside Burro Alley. This is my dream come true and I just had to share the good news! This little shop will be filled with all kinds of super cool treasures. Everything will basically be things that I love and specifically pick out myself. They'll be things that I would personally put in my own home...my style, my taste, my vision. There will be new items AND antiques and some in-between. Some of the items in the shop will be:
Window crystals (all shapes, sizes, and colors)
Celtic jewelry
Incense and unique incense burners
Wicca-based products
Feng Shui supplies
Books
Windchimes
Shabby Chic decor
Colorful pottery
Bird cages and houses
Furniture (mostly antiques)
Smudge sticks
That's just a small example of some of the stuff in my inventory. The painting and remodeling work that's being done is almost done. Once it's finished, I'll be able to start decorating it and setting things up. That's the part I'm most excited about. I have to say that I am happier than I've ever been and I'm so glad I'm jumping out there and taking the risk. I really hope it succeeds, but no matter what....I am having a BLAST!! Here are a couple pictures of the shop in the middle of the remodeling:
